Under New Ownership - From October 2025

King Street Dental Centre has changed hands. Joanna and Marcin are heading on new paths and we wish them all the best. We warmly welcome our new Owner and Principal Dentist – Dr. Waseem Farooq BDS, MJDF,PG Cert Ed. – who has taken over the practice and wish him all the best as he takes the practice forward.

The change of ownership has no impact on our registered patients as we are retaining our NHS contract, and Waseem shall be happy to continue seeing our registered Private patients.

NHS - Waiting Lists Explained - Our Position Updated December 2024.

We, as have many dental practices commissioned by the NHS, have held a ‘Waiting List’ for patients requesting a place for ongoing NHS Dental Care with our practice, since December 2022. We had to authorise the NHS to advertise the fact we are taking a list. Unfortunately, this appears on the NHS site, as if we are open to taking on patients, and there has been no update to the format to account for a list. Despite requests from dental partners, this has still not been addressed. We apologise as this is out of our control.

Though we operate a list, it does not mean we have space to take people off the list and onto our books. Current ceilings on the amount of patients on our NHS books, have still not been altered. We cannot offer spaces, only state that we are taking a list.

We would like to advise potential patients who want to access the list, that they should be aware that it may be several months or even years before a space becomes available. This is unlikely to change unless there are contract changes with the NHS.

We understand that all of this is very confusing and frustrating for the public, and ask that people show respect and have patience for our reception staff, when told otherwise.

Can we kindly ask anyone who has put themselves on the list and is, or has been, lucky enough to find space elsewhere, to kindly update us, so we can remove their name – thank you.

OUR SERVICES & COVID – IMPORTANT INFORMATION & UPDATE (Last Updated: October 2025)

The practice continues to monitor and follow advice and guidance from The Chief Dental Officer, The Department of Health, Public Health England, NHS England & UKHSA

The prevalence of Covid in the local population is currently reasonably low, but it has not gone away. The current strain is realised as far less of a danger, to those who are not classed as vulnerable. But we do still need to try to do what we can to protect others i.e regular hand washing, catching coughs and sneezes in tissues and binning them straight away etc. In order to protect others it is advisable to stay away from public places where vulnerable people may attend, if we have symptoms, where possible.

When you attend:

Whilst you are with us, can we ask that you ‘consciously distance’ where it is practical to do so. If you have a booked appointment please be mindful of the following so as not to overcrowd the waiting area:

  • Don’t attend too early before the appointment time (@ 5-10 mins before is ideal)
  • Try to attend alone, where possible and practicable to do so

For all enquiries, emergency advice and treatment, questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us on 01405 816664. If you have any symptoms, are positive for Covid, or are awaiting a test result please do not turn up in person, instead – ring the practice where staff will be happy to able to answer queries, give advice and triage urgent and emergency problems. Please still tell reception staff if:

  • you have a new continuous cough, fever or temperature or loss of sense of taste and/or smell
  • you are awaiting results of tests for Covid (with or without symptoms),
  • you have been contacted or told to isolate by Track & Trace,
  • you, or anyone you live with are displaying symptoms of coronavirus
  • you have been in contact with anyone who has coronavirus
  • if you have cold or flu like symptoms *

*If you have cold or flu like symptoms we would prefer if you could wear a mask whilst in attendance, if you feel comfortable and able to do so. (to protect others)
